Spring That Spans the World: UK Spring Makeup Looks 2020

BY SHAWN TOWNE

Every year, new seasonal collections for THE SKINCARE MAKEUP are interpreted in a variety of ways around the world. As a Global Educator, I’m always excited to see how our international partners will find new and unique ways to utilize our products. From our Japanese makeup artists who like to mix Dream Tint and Liquid Minerals into a whipped emulsion to a friend in Canada who likes to apply our Eye Shere Liquid Shadows to the eyebrows, it’s always a joy to watch our foreign friends embrace our products in creative ways. This year’s Spring Collection “In Full Bloom” is particularly exciting with the introduction of our new “Pure Basics” Eye Shadow Kit, a reemergence of an all-time favorite “Awake” PurePressed Blush and three brilliant new Tripe Luxe Lipstick colors “Sakura”, “Ellen” and “Stephanie”. Let’s take a look at how two of our friends from the UK are interpreting this collection:

CHARLOTTE – United Kingdom

UK Spring Makeup Look 2020

Charlotte has created a beautiful look with a strong focus on her eyes. It could be worn with a variety of attire from casual to business or even a night out on the town! Her well finished, slightly luminous complexion and soft toned lips give the perfect backdrop for this look. A really lovely element she’s incorporated is her use of the coral tones “Leggings” from our Pure Basics Eye Shadow Kit and “Sakura” from our Triple Luxe Lipsticks. Last year the Pantone color “Living Coral” exploded onto the scene as Pantone’s color of the year. Seen across a wide range of runway shows from Derek Lam to Zac Posen, this rich, wearable hue has held over as a strong trend for 2020. Allure called it “a Shade Practically Made for Makeup”. Sakura Triple Luxe Lipstick is a spot-on match for Pantone’s 2020 color “Coral Pink” a fresh pale hue that is on trend this Spring. Here’s an easy breakdown of how to create Charlotte’s look.

  • Start with clean hydrated skin. We recommend our Beauty Prep Skincare System.
  • Use the Blending Contouring Brush to apply Beyond Matte Liquid Foundation in a shade that’s right for you and use the Chisel Powder Brush to apply our Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder in an equivalent tone. Set with POMMISST Hydration Spray.
  • Now gently contour the cheeks with So Bronze 1 using the Dome Brush and then dust over your apples with Awake PurePressed Blush using the White Fan Brush.
  • Begin the eyes with Smooth Affair for Eyes in Petal, the perfect tone to bring out the coral in our shadows. Apply using our Camouflage Brush and blend it out with your fingers.
  • For eye shadows, start with color “Leggings” using the Large Shader Brush. Apply generously to the entire lid and blend upward to just beneath the brow bone.
  • Next apply the deeper tone “Classic Pumps” to the crease with our Crease Brush. Blend the shadow upward and inward diagonally for sultry intensity.
  • Dust “Lace Panties” in the center of the lid, directly above the iris of your eye with the Deluxe Shader Brush and then highlight the brow bone with “T-Shirt” using the same brush.
  • A strong eyebrow works well with this look. Use our Brunette Retractable Brow Pencil.
  • For lining, use Black Liquid Liner. Apply thicker to the outer corners and thinner as it goes in winging it out if you wish.
  • Complete the eyes with our PureLash Lash Extender & Conditioner and Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara in Black Ice.
  • The final touch of this look is our Sakura Triple Luxe Long Lasting Naturally Moist Lipstick. Apply with our Retractable Lip Brush and define with Pink Lip Pencil.
  • Finish with a final spritz with our POMMISST Hydration Spray.

This look is easy to wear for spring and you’ll be happy to see how well the colors hold over into Summer.

FRANKIE – United Kingdom

UK Spring Makeup Look

Frankie’s look incorporates soft, warm tones while still staying fresh for spring. Her complexion showcases what Marie Claire called “Less Powder, More Dew” in their list of top makeup trends for 2020. But what really makes this look special is the soft intensity that is evenly distributed across her features. She’s used T-Shirt, Silk Blouse and Classic Pumps from our Pure Basics Eye Shadow Kit to give her eyes a richly finished style that’s still natural enough for daytime. Stephanie Triple Luxe Lipstick finishes it perfectly. Here’s an easy breakdown of how to create Frankie’s look.

  • Start with clean hydrated skin. We recommend our Beauty Prep Skincare System.
  • Next apply Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener.
  • Using the Blending Contouring Brush, apply Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream to the face and blend well.
  • With the Chisel Powder Brush, apply So Bronze 3 to the outer perimeters of the face.
  • For eyes, start with Smooth Affair Eye Primer in Canvas applied from the lash line to the brow bone applied with the camouflage brush.
  • For eye shadows, start with “Silk Blouse” applied with the Large Shader Brush. Apply the color to the entire eyelid from the lashes to just under the brow bone.
  • Next apply the deeper tone “Classic Pumps” to your crease using our Crease Brush and blend back and forth until the color is completely bended into the shadow around it.
  • Complete the eye shadows by dusting “T-Shirt onto your browbone using the Deluxe Shader Brush. Again, blend well until there are no lines of demarcation.
  • Apply Mystikol Powdered Eyeliner in Onyx across the top lash line and smudge gently.
  • Finish the eyes with our PureLash Lash Extender & Conditioner and Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara in Black Ice.
  • To complete the look, apply Stephanie Triple Luxe Long Lasting Naturally Matte Lipstick and line the lips with Spice Lip Pencil.
  • Finish with D20 Hydration Spray.

The elements of this look are simple and easy to incorporate either together or with other colors. The same eyes could be worn with a dramatic red lip. The style is timeless and will work well for many kinds of attire. As always, we would love to see your take on this collection. Send us your images and feedback.
